Detailed description

Have you ever dreamed about visiting an ice cave during your visit to Iceland? Here is your chance!

Our guides have recently discovered an ice cave on Sólheimajökull glacier and can’t wait to lead you safely to this natural glacier wonder among crevasses, water cauldrons and ridges. This tour gives you the opportunity to witness first hand an ice cave in Icelandic nature and get in a great moderate glacier hike on one of Iceland’s best known outlet glaciers, Sólheimajökull glacier. During the glacier crossing you’ll see dirt cones made of volcanic ash from various volcanic eruptions and ice. They stand in sharp contrast, in both landscape and color, to the surrounding ice. Finally you’ll enter the blue ice cave. Walking into this frozen world, centuries in the making, is a truly unique experience.

We supply you with necessary equipment and a guide to ensure your safety.

Join us now for this great opportunity to explore an ice cave in Sólheimajökull.

Please note: Ice cave tours are dependent on the weather. For your safety, tours may be cancelled in the case of unfavorable weather conditions. We will update our guests as soon as possible if a tour has been cancelled due to weather. In some cases we might need to change the tour to a longer glacier walk instead.
